Job summary

RTX seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineering Analyst in Goleta, CA, focusing on thermal stress analyses and structural/thermoelastic problems. You will perform static and dynamic analyses, develop FEMs, and translate results into design decisions for DoD spaceflight and imaging systems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in structural/thermal analysis, proficiency with NASTRAN/ANSYS, and strong communication to support proposals, PDR/CDR, and test campaigns.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with structural and/or thermal analysis.
• Structural testing planning, data reduction, and correlation.
• Experience performing Finite Element Analysis with NASTRAN or ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hardware designs for static/dynamic strength, thermoelastic behavior.
• Support program life-cycle analyses from proposal to build/delivery.
• Develop structural requirements for imaging sub-systems.
• Travel to government and facilities as needed.
• Create documentation for complex design requirements.
