Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer (Starlink) to lead thermal design, testing, and validation across phased arrays, gateways, and wireless products. You will craft thermal solutions for semiconductor packages and RF systems, from concept to lab verification, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure performance in extreme conditions.

The role requires a strong background in thermal modeling, proficiency in MATLAB or Python, and experience with Thermal Desktop/ANSYS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in thermal analysis and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Thermal system design of phased arrays, gateways, and wireless products; own components and interfaces.
• Design semiconductor package thermal solutions from concept to simulations and lab tests.
• Devise, build, and run tests to validate hardware performance in extreme conditions.
• Automate workflow to reduce design cycle investment.
• Use first-principles to evaluate sizing cases and design decision impact.
• Perform analysis to recommend performance/robustness improvements.
• Produce documentation for design requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and RF design teams.
