Job summary

CesiumAstro, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Thermal Engineer to lead thermal design for satellites and aerospace systems.

You will own thermal concepts, perform analyses, and drive designs through qualification, working with electrical and mechanical teams to create optimized solutions. The role requires extensive experience in spacecraft thermal environments, strong communication, and ability to present to customers and leadership.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Mechanical/Thermal/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 12 years of industry experience in thermal/mechanical design and analysis.
• Expertise in electronics/PCBA, box and system-level thermal design.
• Proficient with ANSYS or Thermal Desktop and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and validate thermal control systems for spacecraft hardware.
• Lead concept through requirements, detailed design, testing, and qualification.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers on integrated solutions.
• Present design reviews to customers and management; contribute to proposals.
• Develop automation tools and correlate models with lab test results.
