You will mentor engineers, balance mass, cost, and heat rejection, and ensure design robustly supports rapid production while complying with space environment standards.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in a relevant engineering field with strong emphasis on thermal design for aerospace hardware.
• Minimum 5+ years in thermal engineering for aerospace, RF systems, or high‑power electronics.
• Experience with vacuum and radiation heat transfer, and flight hardware qualification.
• Knowledge of dense front‑end integration and RF efficiency impacts on thermal management.
• Proficiency in thermal modeling tools and when to use hand calculations.

Aufgaben

• Own thermal architecture for satellite payloads and ground terminals, including RF front ends and power electronics.
• Build and run transient thermal models from die junction to radiators.
• Define interface details: mounting, materials, heat pipes, and thermal storage.
• Set duty cycles and operational limits with operations teams to avoid surprises.
• Perform architecture trades and quantify impact on degrees, mass, and cost.
• Define requirements, margins, verification plans, and conduct thermal tests.
• Design for a high‑rate production line and mentor the team on thermal practices.
• Collaborate across RF, silicon, structures, power, avionics, and manufacturing.
