Job summary

EPTA GROUP in Columbus, GA seeks a Thermal/Mechanical Engineer to lead product development and thermal design for commercial refrigeration systems. You will apply 1D/2D modeling, CFD knowledge, and hands-on testing to deliver robust solutions. The role requires collaboration with vendors, DFMEA troubleshooting, and design for manufacturing.

Proficiency in English is essential; Spanish a plus. The company offers remote work when possible and a supportive Academy for training.

Qualifications

• Thermal/Mechanical Engineering degree with 7+ years (bachelor) or 5+ years (master).
• Competency with thermal/fluid flow design and analysis.
• Knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
• Hands-on engineering and thermal testing in lab with test engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development and thermal design activities for commercial refrigerator designs.
• Communicate and collaborate with vendors and suppliers.
• Optimize designs using DFA/DFM principles.
• Perform hand calculations and 1D/2D thermal modeling.
• Troubleshoot with DFMEA and root-cause analysis.
• Design heat exchangers and refrigerant piping for refrigerators.
• Optimize air flow and select cooling fans.
• Generate and present design approval reports.
• Draft and publish internal engineering standards and procedures.
