Job summary

Cummings Aerospace is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead thermal design, analysis, and hardware development for hypersonic vehicle components. The role focuses on system-level analyses and verification across flight phases, reporting to the Program Manager.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in thermal analysis for DoD missile systems, strong skills with Thermal Desktop, TRASYS, SINDA, Fluint and NASTRAN, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry is required, MS degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of thermal analysis experience with DoD missile/weapon systems highly desired.
• Familiarity with Thermal Desktop, TRASYS, SINDA, Fluint, NASTRAN, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support thermal system designs of components, subsystems and systems per requirements.
• Perform component through system-level thermal analysis of flight hardware for verification.
• Assess thermal environments for all flight phases including manufacturing and launch.
• Document and present analysis results to Program Management and customers.
• Interface across program IPTs to align design assumptions and deliverables.
• Lead or support work product definitions, schedules and technical reports.
• Ensure corporate policies and procedures are followed.
