Job summary

Dell Technologies is hiring a Thermal Senior Principal Engineer for its ISG Thermal Engineering Team in Austin, Texas. You will lead development of thermal design solutions across AI, HPC, and enterprise hardware, guiding cross-functional collaboration and driving innovations in cooling and power efficiency.

You will own key thermal roadmaps, evaluate feasibility of product concepts, and mentor teams while advancing DOE-compliant and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal engineering; 15 years of industry experience, or PhD without experience.
Experience in CFD modelling for internal flow and electronic cooling applications.
Proven experience instrumenting thermal tests and test plans.
Strong communication skills with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to align on product requirements and boundaries.
Evaluate thermal aspects of product concepts considering prototype availability and schedules.
Develop internal or vendor-assisted thermal solutions (heat sinks, cold plates, air movers, etc.).
Present findings to engineers and management to improve cost, power, and cooling efficiency.
Follow and improve product development practices and procedures.
