Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer in Lexington, MA to own thermal design across hardware programs. You will develop analytical models, CFD simulations, and FEMs to predict temperatures and validate designs through test-model correlations.

The role requires an MS or higher in engineering or applied physics, 7+ years in thermal analysis, and eligibility for a U.S. Secret clearance. Strong MATLAB/Python skills and collaboration with environmental test teams are essential.

Qualifications

• MS or higher degree in engineering or applied physics with focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• 7+ years of experience in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis role.
• Thermal FEA experience – STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
• Familiarity with Matlab or Python for developing analytical models and performing data acquisition & post-processing.
• Experience with performing test-model correlation and test based characterization of critical modelling input parameters.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal analysis and take ownership of thermal design aspects across hardware development programs.
• Develop analytical models and CFD simulations to predict temperatures, heat transfer, and fluid characteristics.
• Generate, maintain, and correlate integrated FEMs for imaging platforms.
• Perform test-model correlation testing to validate analytical predictions.
• Collaborate with environmental test engineers to support testing and data processing of tests to validate models and predictions.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal teams, management, and external customers.
