Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Thermal Hydraulics Engineer to support the design and evaluation of advanced reactor systems. You will perform CFD analyses, thermal-fluid modeling, and heat transfer studies to assess cooling performance under steady-state and transient conditions.

You will use ANSYS and related tools, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and prepare technical reports communicating methods and results.

Qualifications

Experience performing CFD analyses.
Experience developing thermal-fluid system models.
Experience with heat transfer and cooling systems.
Proficiency with ANSYS for CFD and thermal analysis.
20+ years engineering experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Aerospace, Chemical or related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

Perform steady-state and transient CFD analyses to support advanced reactor system design and evaluation.
Develop and execute thermal-fluid system models to assess performance under varying conditions.
Conduct detailed heat transfer and flow distribution analyses for complex systems.
Evaluate cooling system performance, including pressure losses and thermal behavior.
Prepare calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation with clear methods and results.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support system design and qualification activities.
Utilize ANSYS-based tools and other simulation software to generate high-quality results and support decisions.
