Senior Therapist - Speech Language Pathology

Join to apply for the Senior Therapist - Speech Language Pathology role at County of Riverside.

Position Overview

The Rehabilitation Services - Speech Language Pathology department provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for Neonate to adult populations in both in-patient and out-patient settings. The role involves delivering assessments and treatments for swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive deficits across all age groups. The position collaborates daily with nursing, case management, social work, radiology, physicians, and other rehab disciplines. Responsibilities include coordinating daily operations, training and mentoring staff, verifying competencies, direct patient care, and other duties. The work schedule is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, administer, and guide therapy treatments for children with physical handicaps.
  2. Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to set functional goals with physicians, patients, and families.
  3. Provide education and home programs to promote daily living and health.
  4. Maintain records of patient progress and status.
  5. Provide clinical instruction and mentorship to therapy students and staff.
  6. Participate in program development and quality assurance activities.
  7. Assist in conferences, training, and evaluation of professional students.
  8. Review evaluations and medical requests, and represent the program in clinics if needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Relevant experience as specified in the job posting.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, growth and development, anatomy, kinesiology, neurology, and treatment objectives.
  • Ability to plan, organize, conduct therapy programs, and communicate effectively with children and families.
  • Valid California Driver's License required.
