Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Full‑Time Senior Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Technician for its Columbia, MD or York, PA office. The successful candidate will be tasked with balancing HVAC systems for institutional clients while engaging in critical space testing and functional performance testing.

Qualified candidates should have a High School Diploma and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience along with NEBB certification. The position offers a salary range of $85,000 to $130,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Lead and supervise younger staff while ensuring quality control.
• Follow up with outstanding proposals on team pipeline.
• Schedule manpower for projects with clients.

Job description

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full‑Time Senior Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Technician for our Columbia, MD or York, PA office. This person will visit client sites in the DMV area and may come to the office as needed. They will be involved in projects with our Property and Buildings Team and help meet clients’ objectives.

Responsibilities

• Testing, adjusting and balancing to achieve proper operation of HVAC systems for institutional clients (hospitals, labs, higher education)
• Critical space testing to measure airflows and confirm room pressurization, and to calculate air change rates for existing healthcare clients
• Pre‑commissioning to confirm mechanical system installation per contract documents and owner specifications
• Functional performance testing to exercise HVAC equipment and confirm operation per design intent
• Lead and supervise younger staff; quality control of deliverables
• Drive team pipeline: follow up with outstanding proposals
• Engage with clients to schedule manpower for projects

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 9+ years of relevant Testing and Balancing field experience
• NEBB Certified Technician

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC Trade School training and/or certification
