Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Manufacturing/Engineering Test Engineer to resolve issues in design and manufacturing, ensure readiness, and drive reliability and cost efficiency. The role covers testing procedures, defect-tracking, and risk mitigation across large-scale projects, with emphasis on hardware/software/PLC troubleshooting in a production environment.

Qualifications

Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum or equivalent experience in an Engineering function.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Analytical thinking and root-cause analysis.

Effective oral and written communication.
Technical excellence and structured technical problem solving.
Project management knowledge.
Product testing knowledge and experience.
Troubleshooting technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware failures, PLC inputs/outputs, and performance gaps.
Must pass background screening.
Must pass drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

Resolve issues regarding design or manufacturing
Ensure design acceptance and manufacturing readiness
Participate in adopting new technologies and processes, including automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing software
Plan and improve testing procedures and operations for reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Monitor results, machine and process capabilities, and performance reliability
Document test processes and results
Prepare and analyze defect-tracking reports
Test components for compliance with functional requirements and established conventions
Develop product-testing procedures and participate in selecting testing environments and tools
Troubleshoot hardware, software, communications, PLC, and application problems
Generate technical reports and convey critical information to project stakeholders
Create and manage large-scale project plans
Monitor, advise, and mitigate risk to critical-path tasks
