Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Mechanical Assembler in Oxnard, CA to perform diverse electronics assembly tasks and meet stringent quality standards. You will interpret drawings and work instructions, assemble components, and conduct IPC-aligned inspections.

The role requires 2nd shift availability and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs, with an emphasis on accuracy and safety. The successful candidate will have 3+ years in electronics assembly/inspection, a High School Diploma or GED, and knowledge

• 3+ years electronics assembly and/or inspection experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift and manipulate up to 25 lbs for extended periods.
• Knowledge of ESD procedures.
• Detail oriented and able to multitask.
• IPC-610 and J-STD-001 knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and inspect electronics per documented work instructions.
• Interpret job routers, written instructions, and schematics for assembly.
• Perform inspections to IPC standards.
• Perform pass downs between shifts.
• Use hand and/or power tools and assembly palettes.
• Apply materials as specified and under simulated conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a Mechanical Assembler you will perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on a wide variety of state-of-the-art electronics. Mercury Systems is a manufacturing contractor for the Department of War, engineering and manufacturing mechanical assemblies and subassemblies to give our troops a technological advantage on the battlefield. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, leadership, and initiative in your daily activities, while excellent inter-personal and communication skills both oral and written will help you excel in this critical role.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and inspect electronics per documented work instructions
• Interpreting job routers, written instructions, and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics
• Performing a variety of inspections with a focus on ensuring assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards
• Performing pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts
• Using hand and/or power tools, and assembly palettes
• Apply material according to specifications and under simulated conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to work 2nd shift hours 2:30pm-12:00am
• 3+ years of electronics assembly and/or inspection experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
• Must be able to lift and manipulate up to 25lbs for an extended period of time
• Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
• Must be detail oriented and able to multitask

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position

• $38,300.00 - $76,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
• $42,900.00 - $85,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
• $45,200.00 - $90,400.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
