Job summary

TRAX International is seeking an Engineer, SME (TS) in the Potomac River Test Range to lead test planning and execution for complex programs. The role requires extensive engineering experience, SME status in testing & evaluation, and the ability to advise program staff and customers on technical matters.

The position emphasizes strategic analysis, cross-functional support, and collaboration with government and contractors to implement mission-critical test activities and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering; BS with exceptional experience may substitute
• Relevant certifications in SME area are desirable
• At least 12 years in engineering with 6+ years as SME in T&E
• Expertise in instrumentation, explosives safety, or ammunition T&E
• Proven mentoring and knowledge transfer capabilities
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead complex program requirements from inception to conclusion
• Provide strategic technical guidance to staff and customers
• Support multiple functional areas with SME input
• Contribute to trade/concept analyses for mission-driven projects
• Drive test planning, execution, and documentation for T&E
• Develop recommendations for improvements and optimizations
• Collaborate with government, contractors, and engineers
• Communicate innovative solutions to stakeholders
