Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Manufacturing & Test Engineer to develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing and test processes for electro-mechanical and electronic products. This role focuses on increasing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and creating robust, scalable test solutions.

The engineer designs and supports test systems, analyzes production and test data, troubleshoots issues across environments, and collaborates with product design, quality, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving skills to address complex issues.
• Experience troubleshooting with test instrumentation.
• Design fixtures and tooling for manufacturing/test.
• DOE experience and data-driven methods.
• Proficient with 8D, SPC, Cpk.
• Independent troubleshooter for equipment and processes.
• Effective cross-functional communicator.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize production line capacity, driving yield, quality, and cost improvements.
• Monitor daily manufacturing and test performance, resolve issues quickly, and implement corrective actions based on data.
• Develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing and test processes, including fixtures and diagnostic tools.
• Create and execute test plans, procedures, and automated test programs to validate product functionality.
• Estimate project costs and schedules for manufacturing/test changes.
• Ensure products meet all functional and manufacturing requirements through design verification.
• Analyze manufacturing/test system performance and implement improvements for robustness.
• Collaborate with product design for manufacturability and testability.
• Perform DFM/DFT evaluations and provide feedback during development.
• Maintain manufacturing/test documentation in QMS with ECOs.
• Support preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and performance.
• Lead continuous improvement using SPC, 8D, Cpk and structured problem solving.
• Train operators/technicians on processes and procedures.
• Communicate findings and impacts to engineering/operations leadership.
