Job summary

GE Vernova's Schenectady Technology Lab seeks a Senior Facility Electrical Engineer to lead and advance the electrical infrastructure for its test lab, spanning 15 kV to 120 V and DC control systems.

You will design, integrate, and troubleshoot MV/LV systems, mentor junior engineers, manage vendor packages, and ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA standards, with 100% onsite work in Schenectady, NY and <15% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years in electrical engineering, or HS with 15+ years.
• Experience with MV/LV systems including transformers, switchgears, MCCs, UPS/DC systems, generators and protection relays.
• Authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship.
• Proven track record in electrical construction, inspection, and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Safety leadership for electrical practices, including LOTO and arc flash mitigation.
• Lead facility electrical system design, commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting of MV/LV systems.
• Provide technical direction for facility projects, coordinating with GE Vernova teams and vendors.
• Collaborate with Facility & System Readiness team and lab leadership to integrate systems into facility designs.
• Manage electrical equipment packages end-to-end, including RFQs, bid reviews, FATs, and commissioning.
• Develop electrical specs, load lists, one-line/three-line diagrams, and maintain legacy drawings.
