Job summary

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) in Berkeley, MO, is seeking an experienced or senior Test & Evaluation Engineer to join the Structures Test and Evaluation Engineering team. You will lead design, integration and execution of structural and mechanical test programs across Boeing divisions, including new military aircraft programs such as T-7A and MQ-25A and legacy F-15/F/A-18 programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 5+ years of experience with 3D Design software (Siemens NX, SolidWorks and/or CATIA)
• 10+ years of experience with structural testing, mechanical testing and/or flight testing
• 5+ years of experience leading a test design team and/or experience as a test conductor/architect
• 5+ years of experience with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems

Responsibilities

• Provide support to a test program under general direction
• Lead a team through test design, integration and test conduct activities in the structural test labs
• Train early career engineers in engineering best practice and structures testing principles per Boeing guidelines
• Gather test requirements, develop test procedures, design and analyze test fixtures, and lead test conduct phases
• Coordinate with business partners, team members, shop personnel and other support personnel
• Use knowledge in structural test design, CAD and analysis concepts to design fixtures and organize test operations
• Exhibit strong mechanical aptitude including 2D drawings and 3D Model Based Design for test hardware
• Present data to internal teams and partners during design reviews and test readiness reviews
• Analyze test data to ensure readiness and data validity
• Lead efforts to troubleshoot test fixtures, equipment and instrumentation
• Interface with project teams to define and implement test engineering solutions
• Help shape the current and future direction of Boeing Structures Testing capability across the enterprise
