Job summary

AEVEX Aerospace in Florida is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and validate automated and manual test systems and embedded diagnostic applications for complex electronics and circuit card assemblies.

You will author and maintain detailed test procedures and reports, plan qualification and production testing, provide Design for Testability input, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to train staff and meet cost and schedule goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 9+ years of Electrical/Test Engineering experience.
  • Strong electronics knowledge and software programming skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Jira.
  • Experience developing automated test systems using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, PLC.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, Cameo; ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of IEEE 323, IEEE 344, MIL-STD-461 preferred.

Job description

The Senior Test Engineer position includes designing, developing, integrating, and validating automated and manual test systems, as well as embedded diagnostic applications. The role also involves creating and updating test procedures, reports, and fixtures for systems and circuit card assemblies. Candidates should have strong electronics knowledge and software programming skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge surrounding designing and developing unit level and automated testing equipment on assemblies and sub-assemblies.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze embedded military systems to define and implement effective test methods.
  • Design and develop test environments, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Author and maintain detailed test procedures, reports, and documentation.
  • Plan, oversee, and execute qualification and production testing.
  • Provide Design for Testability input and support design reviews.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and provide necessary training.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and status reporting for assigned tasks.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components and test-related services.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet technical, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Diligent, quick learner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and familiar with agile tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Strongly skilled in developing automated test systems using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, PLC.
  • Strong familiarity in modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Cameo. Ability to multitask and manage multiple technical issues in parallel.
  • Strong background in IEEE 323, IEEE 344 and MIL-STD-461 are a plus

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related degree.

Experience

  • 9+ years of Electrical/Test Engineering experience
  • Experienced in collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams.
