Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that strengthen Test House automation and accelerate release readiness across connected device and network environments.

The role combines hands-on software development with test automation framework engineering, lab integration, and operational tooling. Ideal candidates have strong Java, Python, and JavaScript experience and practical knowledge of Wi‑Fi networks in test environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of applied software development experience and formal training in software engineering concepts.
• Strong experience with Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on knowledge of Wi‑Fi networking fundamentals and setting up/test environments for connected devices.
• Experience with source control, automated builds, CI/CD practices, and Agile software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications, services, APIs, and engineering tools using Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Build reusable components and services that improve Test House workflow automation, device management, data collection, and test execution.
• Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and full software development lifecycle tasks.
• Develop secure, maintainable, and resilient solutions for lab and Test House operations.
• Design, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks for device, API, UI, network, and end-to-end validation.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines to enable repeatable executions and rapid feedback.
• Configure and maintain Wi‑Fi test networks and connected client environments.
• Develop dashboards, telemetry, and reporting to improve visibility into test execution and release readiness.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to software engineering and automation best practices.
