Job summary

Spry Methods in Quantico, VA is seeking a Software Engineer with a focus on test automation to support a federal customer. The role requires hands-on automation development, defect management, and strong collaboration across teams to deliver high-quality software for critical missions. U.S.

citizenship with active Top Secret clearance is required. A minimum of 8 years’ experience and leadership in QA are expected, along with expertise in automation frameworks and lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with software testing best practices and defect management processes.
• Proven experience in delivering realistic estimates, in scope, and quality products.
• Leadership experience in a testing or QA role.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Excellent understanding and experience of test automation frameworks, regression, system, functional and performance testing.
• Exceptional collaborative communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of test automation frameworks.
• Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and technical teams to identify automation needs.
• Review and analyze test automation results to ensure software quality.
• Mentor and train junior test engineers on automation best practices.
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor and improve the efficiency of test automation processes.
• Perform testing activities to ensure proper tracking and completion each Sprint and overall release.
• Write and revise test-related management plans and formal test procedures.
• Perform functional, exploratory, system, regression and performance testing.
