Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build testing pipelines, frameworks, and infrastructure for automated testing across Apple’s apps and platforms.

You will mentor engineers, translate cross-functional requirements into scalable solutions, and contribute to AI-assisted development practices that raise quality and accelerate delivery. Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience delivering production-quality tooling or infrastructure.
• 3+ years of Python development with OO design and scalable codebases.
• Proficiency in at least one language (Scala or Swift) with 3+ years hands-on use.
• Experience with CI/CD systems and Jenkins pipeline configuration.
• Ability to gather cross-functional requirements and write thorough specifications.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and techniques to deliver quality software.
• Strong CS fundamentals in OO design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Design and build testing pipelines and frameworks enabling automated tests at scale across devices and platforms.
• Develop infrastructure to support automated test execution for Apple's applications, from News/Weather to Final Cut Pro.
• Create backend tooling to surface patterns in test results and provide actionable insights into root causes.
• Translate complex requirements into clear technical specifications and scalable engineering solutions.
• Own projects from concept through delivery, coordinating across teammates and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's engineering level.
• Contribute to technical decisions, evaluating solutions against client needs and trends.
• Integrate AI-assisted development practices to improve software quality and delivery speed.
