Job summary

Inherent Technologies is seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our QA team in Jersey City, onsite. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web and API testing, with a focus on improving efficiency and quality.

The role requires 5+ years in software testing and at least 3 years in automation, strong knowledge of Selenium and Java, and experience with CI/CD practices. Onsite work in Jersey City, NJ is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software testing with at least 3 years in test automation.
• Experience with Selenium including framework maintenance and optimization.
• Expertise in Selenium, BDD, and Cucumber; solid Java/OOP concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience understanding business requirements and testing techniques.
• Hands-on in writing test scenarios.
• Experience in web service automation using Rest Assured or Postman.
• Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• SQL knowledge for relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web and API testing.
• Identify manual tests to automate and implement automation solutions.
• Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define test strategies.
• Perform manual testing for exploratory testing and edge cases.
• Analyze results, report bugs, and coordinate with devs to resolve issues.
• Improve the automation framework and testing processes.
• Stay updated with testing tools and best practices.
• Mentor junior QA team members in automation practices.
