Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test for a contract role to join PlayStation's testing ecosystem. You will design and implement automated test strategies across UI, API, and backend services to ensure quality for millions of players.

Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers; build scalable automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, REST tools); contribute to CI/CD pipelines and shift-left quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software testing with test plan design and execution.
• 3+ years building and maintaining automated tests for web, mobile, APIs, backend.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Strong REST API testing and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with contract testing frameworks such as Pact.
• Familiarity with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and service-to-service testing.
• Experience with Selenium and Appium.
• Strong API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, GraphQL, gRPC).
• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Docker.
• Understanding CI/CD and test methodologies.
• Analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in an agile environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test strategies across UI, API, and backend.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to define test coverage.
• Build, maintain, and scale automated testing frameworks for web, mobile, APIs, and backend services.
• Improve quality engineering practices and CI/CD adoption across teams.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and drive timely resolution.
• Support release readiness by validating features and assessing quality risks.
