Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a results-oriented QA/Quality Engineer to design and drive automated testing across energy-sector projects. You will build and maintain scalable frameworks, establish data and environment parity, and lead quality gates with measurable metrics.

You will partner with leadership and engineering to turn requirements into repeatable tests, coach teams on best practices, and guide test strategy for complex initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in software engineering.
• 2-5 years of software testing focusing on test automation at scale.
• Experience across UI Automation, API/Service Testing, Backend/Service Automation, and Performance Testing.
• Proficiency in Rust, JavaScript, Python, or C++.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven systems, and messaging.
• Experience with containerized deployment patterns.
• Experience with BDD and feature flags.
• Power industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the quality process and test automation initiatives for resilient, performant, and scalable energy-sector solutions
• Architect, build, and evolve test automation frameworks and pipelines to enable fast, reliable releases
• Establish patterns for test data generation, mocks/stubs, and environment parity
• Collaborate with company leadership, product management, developers, and cross-functional teams to turn requirements into repeatable, business-driven testing
• Implement quality gates using quantifiable metrics such as defect escape rate, test reliability, and meaningful-layer coverage
• Make quality visible to engineering leaders
• Coach engineers on testability, design-for-quality, and clean code practices
• Lead test strategy on complex initiatives
