Job summary
Beshenich Muir & Associates, LLC (BMA) seeks a SST Terrain Database Engineer to support ARNG MCTSP at Camp Dodge, Des Moines, IA, with frequent travel. You will create digital terrain for live, virtual, and constructive simulations across WARSIM, BE Server, AARS, and MUSE/UAS federates and ensure terrain production tools are properly configured.
The role requires extensive GIS expertise, proficiency with ERDAS IMAGINE, ArcGIS, and other tools, and a strong ability to operate within JLVC/JLCCTC
Qualifications
- Eight+ years of GIS SME experience.
- Five+ years with ERDAS IMAGINE, ESRI ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Adobe Photoshop, JLCCTC STT.
- Five+ years in technical computer operations and able to learn JLCCTC Federate operations.
- BS degree in Geographic Information Science and Technology; may be waived with 12 years GIS experience.
- Certified GIS Professional (GISCI) membership or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Designs and generates new digital terrain, edits terrain, and manages terrain databases for JLVC/JLCCTC/LVC-G models and Federates.
- Processes mosaic large aerial imagery datasets.
- Develops and analyzes topographic and thematic map data for training and operations.
- Conducts configuration management of terrain production tools.
- Maintains historical terrain, imagery, maps, textures, and datasets.
