Job summary

Ash Grove Cement is seeking a Supervisor for Terminal Operations to oversee maintenance, ship unloading, and bulk loading across East and West terminals. You will report to the Assistant Operations Manager and align with general policies and objectives.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety guidelines, coordinating with the sales office, and ensuring smooth daily operations while mentoring hourly staff and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a terminal setting with front-line supervisory experience desired.
• Able to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions and signs.
• Familiar with MSHA/OSHA regulations, safe work practices and hazard recognition.
• Knowledge of terminal processing equipment and maintenance practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; able to navigate electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Request parts and tools needed for maintenance activities.
• Support hourly employees on daily operation and maintenance activities.
• Perform safety observations.
• Train employees on best practices for ship unloading, truck loading, cement transfer and safe work practices.
• Interact with sales office on delivered load and customer trucking activities; lead bulk loaders in implementation.
• Take direction from the Assistant Operations Manager and Terminal Operations Supervisor.
• Ensure daily work orders are completed properly and efficiently.
• Perform ship unloading, bulk loading and cement transfer duties as needed.
• Keep daily logs, work orders, sign-off sheets, safety assessments and related paperwork updated.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
