Job summary

Montreat College in Montreat, NC, seeks a Head Tennis Coach to lead both men’s and women’s programs. The role focuses on recruiting mission-fit student athletes, promoting academic success, spiritual development, and competitive excellence within AAC and NAIA rules.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, staff development, admissions collaboration, and regular updates to the Athletic Director on culture, retention, and program growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university.
• Collegiate playing experience is preferred.
• College coaching experience with a history of recruiting, retention, and academic oversight is a plus.
• Candidates must affirm and support the Faith Statement and Community Life Covenant of Montreat College.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruiting targets for both teams.
• Ensure scholarships are strategic and within assigned limits.
• Oversee budget spending for both programs.
• Schedule practices and games per AAC/NAIA rules.
• Meet regularly with tennis staff to cover NAIA and AAC rules education.
• Attend Staff and All-Employee Meetings.
• Assist with Discovery Days and Admissions events.
• Meet regularly with the Athletic Director to update on culture, spiritual development, retention, recruiting, and budget.
