Job summary

Mission Action seeks a Full-Time Lead Tenant Rights Counselor to support low-income tenants citywide, handling intake, documentation, and outreach. The role involves preparing formal documents, conducting Know-Your-Rights workshops, and representing the agency in coalitions to advance housing justice.

The counselor will manage a caseload, coordinate with landlords, and help renters access services while participating in citywide collaboratives as part of MSROC.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing counseling and tenant rights advocacy.
• Ability to plan and conduct Know-Your-Rights workshops.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform intake and counseling for low-income tenants.
• Monitor and track program deliverables.
• Provide warm referrals to financial assistance and services as needed.
• Advocate with outside agencies for eviction prevention and housing stability.
• Coordinate and facilitate Know-Your-Rights workshops and outreach.
• Represent MSROC in housing rights coalitions and collaborations.
• Generate reports to satisfy program funding requirements.
• Attend regular meetings with supervisors to review outreach efforts.
