Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on large-scale long-haul fiber installation projects. You will develop project plans, monitor performance, mentor colleagues, and ensure safety and quality per codes.

The position requires 8+ years in telecom construction supervision, strong leadership, and the ability to manage subcontractors while traveling to multiple sites across states.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent.
• Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to supervise craft employees and subcontractors.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive issue resolution.
• In-depth knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current practices.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Will ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations.
• Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules.
• Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects.
• Knowledgeable in reporting and tracking financial aspects of the project.
• Participates in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
• Sets priorities and allocates resources for the entire field team.
• Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.

• Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
• Effective Communication and leadership skills
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Strong organizational and planning skills
  
  

Working Conditions:

• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
• This is a site-based position that will require travel to various Ledcor offices and project sites through multiple states
