Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 7 years of utility telecommunications project or related experience required.
• Consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project deliverables: bill of materials, specs, yard layouts, equipment plans, wiring diagrams, and more.
• Lead execution of complex tasks using advanced tools; develop new processes or methods.
• Identify and lead resolution of issues on projects.
• Provide guidance to less experienced staff.
• Coordinate with project manager to support schedules and deadlines.
• Ensure deliverables meet client satisfaction and QA/QC guidelines.
• Perform design quality reviews.
• Interact with clients to build relationships with key contacts.
• Lead preparation of proposals and presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

The Senior Telecommunications Engineer will lead a variety of complex utility projects, including supervisory control and data acquisition, distribution automation, cyber security, microwave radio, wireless networks, fiber optics, and smart grid.

• Lead design of telecommunications networks, utilizing client standards, or developing new standards.
• Manage project deliverables such as: bill of materials, specifications, yard layouts, equipment plans, sections and details, wiring diagrams, control building arrangements, DC calculations, cable lists, SCADA points lists, device configuration files, network architecture diagrams, channel plans, RF path studies, and cutover plans.
• Lead execution of complex assignments requiring the use of advanced tools and techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment, and/or technological methods.
• Identify, communicate, and lead the resolution of issues on projects as needed.
• Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
• Work with the project manager to support the project schedule and meet deadlines.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to the client’s satisfaction and that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines.
• Perform design quality reviews.
• Meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel to develop relationships with key client points of contact.
• Lead in preparation of proposals and presentations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical, computer, or other related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of utility telecommunications project or related experience required.
• Consulting experience preferred.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
• Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required.

Compensation

$160,000.00-240,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
