Job description

Telecommunications Network Engineer - Sr

Location: Decatur, AL

Position Type: Remote with 50% travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations. Remote work authorized when not traveling.

Responsibilities

1. Analyze and develop telecommunications networks supporting voice, data, video, and wireless services.
2. Design and plan installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from inception to completion.
3. Analyze problems and characteristics of information to be transported; define problems and develop system requirements and network specifications.
4. Coordinate with other information system professionals for proper implementation of network services.
5. Develop alternative solutions and backup plans with functional users.
6. Provide technical and administrative direction for personnel involved in telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations, including review of work products.
7. Make recommendations for major network installations.
8. Prepare milestone status reports and deliver presentations on network progress.

Desired Skills

• Experience in telecommunications network design and management.
• Ability to work independently or under general direction on moderately complex requirements.
• Experience in analysis and design of voice networks, LAN data networks, wireless networks, and network management systems.
• Experience with complex applications involving all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis.
• Experience managing evaluation and cost estimation of LAN services, designing access/backbone networks, or managing wireless voice/data networks.

Minimum Qualifications

• IT I (TS / SSBI Investigation)
• 5 Years of relevant experience
• CISCO CE Certification (CCNP, CCWP, or other relevant Telecommunications Engineer - Sr CISCO Cert)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs overhead.
• Travel up to 50%.
