Job summary

Ribbon Communications is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design and Bring-up Engineer to join a multi-site team in RTP, Morrisville, NC. The role focuses on developing PCB-based electrical hardware for telecom products, bringing designs from concept to production, and supporting legacy systems.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in hardware design, strong experience with RTOS/Linux drivers, and hands-on expertise with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years related experience.
• Familiarity with telecom principles and standards, TDM and IP switching.
• Hands-on experience with test and debug tools (Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, telecom traffic analyzers).
• Experience with RTOS, kernel/user space, drivers, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical hardware used in telecom equipment, primarily PCB-based.
• Design, document and test prototype and production designs; coordinate with SW, manufacturing, and product management.
• Provide ongoing support for production hardware, including installation, deployment, and repair; evaluate issues and propose redesigns.
