Job summary

Lightpath is seeking a Facilities Construction Project Manager to develop and oversee our Lightpath and external vendor long haul colocation facilities. You will manage the entire lifecycle—from engineering and construction to commissioning and ongoing maintenance—across multiple sites nationwide.

The ideal candidate has 3–10+ years in telecommunication collocation facility engineering, construction and operations, with strong leadership, documentation, and vendor-management skills.

Qualifications

• 3 to 10+ years in telecommunication collocation facility engineering, construction and operations.
• Experience designing and building telecommunications facilities.
• Mechanical, electrical design and construction experience is necessary.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Familiar with collocation inventory systems, biometric access, video surveillance systems, electrical and cooling infrastructure systems, OSP networks.
• Highly organized and able to adapt to a changing environment.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility engineering, construction, and infrastructure buildout.
• Work with Architectural/Engineering firms to design facilities across the country.
• Solicit proposals for construction and award contracts to meet schedules.
• Attend zoning meetings with consultants to gain approvals.
• Build a team of engineers and project managers across the country.
• Plan and maintain preventative schedules.
• Maintain compliance, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Interface with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide planning and leadership for collocation network growth and augmentation activities.
• Be available for after-hours support and travel as needed.
