Job summary

Connectivity Point is seeking an experienced Telecom Estimator for our South Carolina operations. The role focuses on developing accurate estimates for structured cabling and telecom projects from bid through award, collaborating with account executives, engineers, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate holds a current BICSI RCDD or can obtain one, with deep knowledge of telecom, cabling, and low-voltage systems. Experience with estimating software and design tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RCDD with BICSI and 5–10 years of RCDD experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications and structured cabling systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and project documents with accuracy.
• Familiar with relevant codes (BICSI, TIA, NEC) and standards.
• Proficient in estimating and cost-effective solution development.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, competitive estimates for cabling and telecom projects.
• Collaborate with account executives on bids, design builds, and requirements.
• Review drawings, specs, scopes, and bid documents for requirements.
• Perform detailed takeoffs and create Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Obtain and evaluate material pricing from suppliers and subs.
• Prepare estimates, proposals, and scopes using estimating software.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Communicate with customers, engineers, and contractors effectively.
• Provide technical expertise and cabling solutions to win bids.
• Support pre-construction meetings and post-award deployment.
• Coordinate documentation, design info, and field needs with operations.
