Job summary

PAE is seeking a visionary and highly technical Senior Technology Engineer in our Boston office to provide high-level project leadership and technical mastery within our technology department. You will guide complex building projects and mentor staff while leveraging converged infrastructure across telecom, audiovisual, security, and healthcare systems.

The role may evolve towards Project Manager or Engineer of Record, requiring strong client relationships and adherence to codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
  • Professional credential (PE, CTS, RCDD, PSP) preferred.
  • 1–3 years Technology discipline lead, or 6–10 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Project team leadership and management, responsible for completing the project on time and within budget.
  • Preparation of deliverable documents including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications.
  • Attend client meetings, coordinate between external and internal project teams.

PAE is seeking a visionary and highly technical Senior Technology Engineer in our Boston office to provide high-level project leadership and technical mastery within our technology department. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of complex building projects, serving as a primary technical resource and mentor for the company. As a potential Project Manager or Engineer of Record (EOR), you will leverage your extensive knowledge of converged infrastructure including telecom, audiovisual, security, and healthcare systems, to deliver innovative, code-compliant solutions while fostering strong, long-term relationships with clients and partners.

What You’ll Do
  • Project team leadership and management, responsible for completing the project on time and within budget
  • Responsible for the preparation of deliverable documents including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Attend client meetings, lead the coordination effort between external and internal project teams
  • Independently evaluate and apply design judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction
  • Extensive knowledge of converged infrastructure and ability to lead the design of telecom, audiovisual, security, healthcare and other technology system
  • Assemble effective project teams
  • Develop project workplans, tasks and assignments for the team
  • Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination
  • Advanced understanding of the application of building codes and technology industry standards
  • Oversee calculations and equipment selection
  • Prepare and review opinions of probable construction costs
  • Perform site visits and issues reports
  • Provide training, guidance and mentorship for staff
  • Provide updates to master specifications and standards, and improve company processes
  • Develop client relationships
  • Oversee the application of the project quality management plan (QMP)
  • May be responsible as a Project Manager or the Engineer of Record (EOR) with approval
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering for discipline work
  • Relevant professional credential (i.e. PE, CTS, RCDD, PSP)
  • Requires a minimum of 1-3 years Technology discipline lead, or 6-10 years’ related work experience
  • Serve as a technical resource for the company
  • Advanced understanding of technology design concepts and ability to effectively communicate design options to a diverse stakeholder group
  • Thorough understanding of project phases and their associated deliverables
  • Strong delegation skills
  • Proactive and effective communicator
  • Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills
  • Knowledge and application of NEC and relevant building and energy codes
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Revit/AutoCAD
What We Offer
  • Hiring Base Salary Range: $113,600-$142,000 annual
  • This position is eligible for time and a half overtime pay

The base salary is one component of PAE’s competitive compensation package for employees. We take into consideration a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, internal equity and geographic location in determining exact salary offered. At PAE, employees are eligible for annual compensation reviews based on performance and business needs. The above range represents PAE's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
