Qualifications

• College degree or technical training in a related field.
• 1–2 years of Technology Engineer or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate technology concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with building codes and industry standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit and design software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to ensure client standards are met and tech systems are integrated into the design.
• Perform AutoCAD/Revit system design and produce deliverables on time.
• Develop understanding of other disciplines and read plans/specifications.
• Apply building codes and industry standards; engage with vendors for product education.
• Conduct site visits, prepare reports, and assist with telecom, audiovisual, security, and healthcare system design.
• Carry out calculations for room sizing, cable raceways, sound levels, and display distances.
• Contribute to quality management and project documentation.

PAE is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technology Engineer to join our team in a professional hybrid office environment in Portland, OR. This role is designed for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who is ready to take on more complex design responsibilities across telecom, audiovisual, security, and healthcare technology systems. Working with limited instruction from a project lead, you will bridge the gap between initial concepts and final deliverables, ensuring that innovative technology solutions are seamlessly incorporated into the overall system design while meeting rigorous client and industry standards.

What You’ll Do

• Work within a team environment to ensure clients standards are met and technology systems are incorporated into the overall system design
• Perform AutoCAD/Revit system design
• Complete assigned work on time with limited instruction from the project lead
• Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail
• Develop understanding of other disciplines
• Application of building codes and technology industry standards
• Contribute to site visits and prepare reports
• Assist with the design of telecom, audiovisual, security, healthcare and other technology systems
• Perform room sizing, cable raceway capacity, sound pressure level, and visual display distance calculations
• Understand and able to read plans and specifications, develop skills to edit/write specifications
• Engagement with Audiovisual, Security and Telecom vendors for purpose of product education and industry practices
• Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• College degree in discipline work, Technical Institute training preferred
• Requires a minimum of 1- 2 years of Technology Engineer 1 or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of technology systems design concepts with the ability to effectively communicate them

What We Offer

• Hiring Base Salary Range: $81,200-$99,100 annual
• This position is eligible for time and a half overtime pay

The base salary is one component of PAE’s competitive compensation package for employees. We take into consideration a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, internal equity and geographic location in determining exact salary offered. At PAE, employees are eligible for annual compensation reviews based on performance and business needs. The above range represents PAE’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
