Job summary

dsm-firmenich Exton facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician for first shift. You will install, repair, and maintain manufacturing tooling and equipment, train technicians, and support facility systems to ensure consistent, high-quality production.

The role requires extensive experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems, plus the ability to troubleshoot in real time to prevent downtime. Growth and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• HVAC, freeze dryers, refrigeration, chillers, towers, exhaust fans, pressure pots, steam, compressors, vacuum pumps and related equipment experience.
• Experience training technicians is preferred.
• Medical device GMP experience is preferred.

Maintenance Technician, 1st shift

Monday - Friday 7:00AM -3:30PM

As a Maintenance Technician, and under supervision, you can be called upon to perform any and all duties consistent with assuring that dsm-firmenich products are of consistent and high quality by: Assuming responsibility for set-up, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing tooling and their related equipment while maintaining a clean, secure and a safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will have well rounded experience with HVAC, freeze dryers, refrigeration, chillers, towers, exhaust fans, pressure pots, steam, compressors, vacuum pumps and more. You will also maintain and troubleshoot equipment reliability and respond to unplanned equipment failures in real-time to avoid production disruptions in manufacturing operations, engineering and facility systems. Experience training technicians is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, repair, and maintain new and existing manufacturing tooling and equipment.
• Develop and update maintenance procedures, as necessary.
• Train assembly technicians on the operation of manufacturing equipment.
• Complete entries in Preventative Maintenance Logbooks and Faciliworks program.
• Work with manufacturing personnel to trouble shoot manufacturing process problems.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering as required.
• Assist with general facility issues relating to plumbing, HVAC and electrical services to maintain proper working conditions.
• Maintain non-production equipment, which supports production.
• Organize and maintain spare parts inventory for completing timely repairs on all equipment.
• Provide management with periodic reports.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide off-hours support to sustain 24/7 operations

You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required/ Two-year technical degree preferred.
• 5 years ’experience in the following positions: Electrical, Electronics / PLC and Refrigeration.
• Medical device manufacturing or GMP preferred. Also, medical materials/chemical manufacturing strongly preferred.
• SAP, Blue Mountain and eMaint preferred.
• Proficient data/voice cabling installation, maintenance and repair.
• Proficient industrial electric service installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Advanced working knowledge of VOM, Amperage meters, Megger & related electrical testing equipment.
• Advanced working knowledge of scope & usage of General Work Permitting Procedure & Processes.
• Advanced knowledge of refrigeration related testing / recovery / charging equipment.
• Advanced working knowledge of Electronic / PLC controls.
• Advanced working knowledge of plumbing, electrical & HVAC systems.
• Advanced working knowledge of various power & hand tools; wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
• Advanced working knowledge of uninterrupted UPS power systems.
• Ability to read & understand schematics.
• Current CPR training.
• Proficient written & oral communication skills + computer literacy.

Hourly $31.73- $36.00

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location.

In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
