Role summary:
The Senior Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment, is responsible for performing comprehensive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and compliance of food equipment and related facilities. This role involves diagnosing issues using technical manuals, managing parts inventory, and overseeing contractors to maintain quality standards. The position includes training and mentoring less-experienced associates, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. The Senior Technician supports operational continuity through effective problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners to uphold company standards and business objectives.

What you’ll do:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on food equipment and facility systems to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment using blueprints, manuals, and parts catalogs.
• Oversee and guide less-experienced associates, providing hands-on training and instruction.
• Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor relationships to support facility operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety and quality standards.
• Participate in on-call rotation to address urgent maintenance needs promptly.
• Operate and maintain powered equipment and company vehicles following safety protocols.

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience performing maintenance and repairs on food equipment and related facility systems.
• Proficiency in multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor relationships.
• Capability to train and mentor less-experienced technicians through hands-on instruction.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to support operational priorities and continuous improvement.

  The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications…

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Option 2: 6 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
