Job summary

Brown Technologies Incorporated in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support the UHPO IPO at Redstone Arsenal. The Senior Technical Writer will develop XML for IETMs and page-based publications in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers.

The position requires an active Secret clearance and experience with XML, UltraEdit, Arbortext Editor, and IADS, along with MIL-STD standards.

Qualifications

Active Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Approximately five years of technical writing experience supporting aviation or major weapon systems.
Demonstrated experience with XML integration and developing IETM and/or page-based technical publications.
Proficiency with UltraEdit, Arbortext Editor, and Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS).
Working knowledge of MIL-STD-40051, MIL-HDBK-1222, MIL-PRF-63029.
Experience reviewing and analyzing technical data from SRD, vendors, and OEMs.
Ability to convert data from SGML, Word, PDF, and other formats to XML.

Responsibilities

Perform reviews, redactions, and marking of UHPO proponent manuals in support of the International Program Office.
Analyze, develop, create, and update XML for IETM and/or page-based technical publications.
Convert source data to updated standards and formats to XML.
Work with engineers, illustrators, and customers to review, redact, and mark UHPO publications.
Ensure publications comply with MIL-STD and military standards.
