Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Technical Writer (Starshield) to compile and update technical specifications and requirements for cryptographic and security systems. You will collaborate with software and hardware engineers to produce clear documents for certification, manage deliverables, and drive progress in ambiguity.

Candidates need a strong writing background and the ability to learn complex concepts. Travel about 15% to other SpaceX locations; eligibility for Top Secret/Top Secret SCI clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional experience as a technical writer.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent written English and grammar.
• Experience developing requirements documents for information security standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical and requirements documents for security systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers to describe software functionality clearly.
• Oversee timely delivery of documentation to external evaluators.
• Propose improvements to requirements management systems.
