Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Technical Writer (Starshield) to compile and update technical specifications and requirements for cryptographic and security systems.

You will collaborate with software/hardware engineers to produce high-quality documents supporting certification efforts and manage documentation deliveries to external evaluators. The role requires learning complex technical concepts, effective project management, and initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional experience as a technical writer.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Experience developing requirements documents for information security standards.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Teams, etc).
• Excellent written English and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical and requirements documents, including security evaluation documents, verification and validation plans, and design documentation.
• Collaborate with software engineers to produce concise descriptions of software functionality for a technical audience.
• Oversee the timely delivery of required documentation to external evaluators.
• Propose and develop improvements to requirements management systems.
