Job summary

Ennoble First is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support an Intelligence Community customer in Gaithersburg, MD. The role develops and maintains documentation for sophisticated programs, working closely with software and systems engineers, program leadership, and customer stakeholders to deliver clear, authoritative materials.

Remote work is allowed up to two days per week, with local presence required in Gaithersburg, MD.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of professional technical writing experience.
• Experience documenting complex software, systems, or defense/intel programs.
• Hands-on experience with Confluence and Jira or similar tools.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear, user-focused content.
• Experience working in controlled or classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for complex GEOINT systems and software.
• Translate technical concepts into clear, audience-appropriate content.
• Collaborate with engineers and subject-matter experts to gather accurate information.
• Create system documentation, user guides, SOPs, release notes, and architecture descriptions.
• Maintain documentation standards and templates.
