Job summary

Leidos’ Maru Program is seeking a Senior Technical Writer who translates complex GEOINT systems, software, and mission capabilities into clear, authoritative documentation for an Intelligence Community customer. You will work closely with engineers, program leadership, and subject-matter experts to produce polished, mission-ready materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8-12+ years of relevant experience.
• 7+ years of professional technical writing experience.
• Experience documenting complex software, systems, cloud, or DevSecOps environments.
• Hands-on experience with Confluence and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for complex GEOINT systems.
• Translate highly technical concepts into clear, audience-appropriate content.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts, and subject-matter experts to gather information.
• Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, technical manuals, SOPs, release documentation, architecture descriptions, and other program deliverables.
• Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, style guides, and content-development processes.
• Review existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and completeness.
• Manage multiple documentation efforts and priorities while meeting demanding deadlines.
• Interview technical and mission personnel and synthesize complex information into accessible written content.
• Work within controlled and potentially classified environments while adhering to program security and documentation requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the organization's technical communication practices.
