Job summary

Leidos in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of mission-critical geospatial systems. You will work with software, cybersecurity, and government partners to translate requirements into scalable, secure architectures and documentation.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph and extensive experience in Agile, systems engineering, and cloud-based environments. Join a mission-driven team delivering impactful national-security capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8–12 years of experience or Master’s with 6–10 years of experience.
8+ years of professional systems engineering experience.
Experience with GEOINT systems or geospatial data workflows.
Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/SAFe/Kaban).
Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar tooling.

Responsibilities

Lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, from requirements to sustainment.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Agile teams to translate mission needs into technical solutions.
Develop architectures, CONOPS, interfaces, and technical documentation.
Perform decomposition, allocation, and traceability of system functions.
Support CI/CD and DevSecOps activities and security compliance.
