Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Technical Writer for Security Operations to craft clear, actionable documentation for developers and IT professionals. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and UX teams to translate complex cybersecurity concepts into user-centered materials, while coordinating multiple junior writers to deliver on critical user journeys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks).
• Experience in using the UNIX/Linux Command-Line Interface (CLI).
• 10 years of experience in technical writing for SaaS, enterprise security, or networking (preferred).
• Experience documenting APIs and database design concepts.
• Experience with XML-based documentation authoring systems.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and UX/UI to determine documentation requirements.
• Lead content strategy and define workstreams focused on critical user journeys.
• Write, publish, and maintain customer-facing documentation, including references, online content, in-app guides, and tutorials, based on advanced concepts in cybersecurity.
• Define documentation requirements with the teams, and work with engineers to create and update documentation sets.
• Edit, clarify, and enhance documents written by engineers and other stakeholders.
