Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to own key customer issues and provide level-two support, helping customers adopt Google Cloud through troubleshooting, networking, system administration, and scripting as needed.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve products, tooling, and documentation, and mentor teammates while advocating for customer needs across deployments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of troubleshooting, advocating for customer needs, and triaging technical issues (hardware, software, applications, processes).
  • 5 years of experience with computer networking and web technologies (HTTP, DNS, etc.).
  • Experience as a system administrator with Linux/Unix or Windows systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support.
  • Manage the customer’s problem through effective diagnosis, resolution, or investigation tools to increase productivity for customer issues on Google Cloud Platform products.
  • Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to resolve deployment obstacles.
  • Develop an understanding of Google's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting and building tools for faster diagnosis.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to improve the product and interact with SRE teams to drive high-quality production while advocating customer needs.

X This role requires you to work in a shift pattern or non-standard work hours as required. This may include weekend work.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process).
  • 5 years of experience with computer networking and web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS, etc.).
  • Experience as a system administrator with Linux/Unix, or Windows systems.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with any of the following solutions: System virtualization, on-premise or hybrid cloud computing.
  • Experience with cloud computing (e.g., certifications, internships, coursework, etc.) and debugging complex workload issues across large-scale, multi-node environments.
  • Experience using or integrating AI/LLMs (such as Gemini) into daily engineering or troubleshooting workflows.
  • Experience working with distributed systems, and familiarity with common solutions, design patterns, or best practices.
