Job summary

ITC Federal, LLC is seeking a Senior Technical Writer in Huntsville, AL to lead documentation development for a major FBI modernization program. You will create engineering docs, SOPs, and runbooks, ensuring compliance and security alignment across engineering, cloud, QA, and operations teams.

You will gather information from SMEs, editors, and engineers to produce clear, accurate content, maintain version control, and support audits and accreditation packages.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical writing, documentation development, or content management.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University.
• Ability to translate technical content into clear documentation for varied audiences.
• Experience writing for cloud, DevSecOps, engineering, software, or data-driven environments.
• Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown, or Adobe/Microsoft suites.
• Excellent organization, communication, editing, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain engineering documentation, system descriptions, design artifacts, and configuration records.
• Develop SOPs, user guides, operational procedures, runbooks, and reference materials.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, audience-appropriate content.
• Ensure documentation follows program formatting, style, security, and compliance standards.
• Edit and improve existing content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Maintain version control and documentation integrity across multiple repositories.
• Gather information from SMEs, architects, and engineering leads to produce accurate content.
• Coordinate documentation deliverables for release cycles and deployment events.
