Qualifications

• Five+ years of writing and editing experience.
• Experience with 508 accessibility standards and assistive tech.
• Meticulous line-by-line editing of complex documents.
• Familiarity with long-form technical documentation or research writing.
• Comfortable collaborating with researchers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Edit formal technical reports at all editorial levels, including copyediting and proofreading.
• Test and ensure 508 conformance with accessibility tools and manual checks.
• Enforce editorial standards and style-guide conventions across multi-author documents.
• Write technical content for reports, the SEI website, blogs, and presentations.
• Collaborate with technical staff to develop blog posts and articles on technical topics.
• Create and edit brief articles and marketing materials for various channels.
• Produce web content, video scripts, and other electronic media content.
• Coordinate with Communications Design, Web Services, PR, and Outreach teams on publications and events.
• Plan, manage, schedule, and track project tasks.
