Job summary

The role requires 6+ years in technical writing for government/defense, ability to work with engineers, and proficiency with S1000D, XML, HTML-based authoring tools, plus Adobe Acrobat Pro and MS Office. Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical writing in government/defense environments.
• Ability to independently develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings, technical specs, and software docs.
• Experience with S1000D, XML, and HTML-based authoring tools.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and MS Office.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical documentation for software, hardware, system operations, and engineering activities.
• Develop installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system administration guides.
• Collaborate with engineers and SMEs to gather and validate technical information.
• Document system architectures, interfaces, workflows, and operational processes.
• Support government deliverables and ensure compliance with documentation standards and configuration control.
