Job summary

SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to work at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. You will develop, revise, and maintain technical publications addressing procedures, equipment, and systems for mission-critical activities.

You will translate complex technical or operational information into clear, well-structured documents, collaborating with subject-matter experts to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Requires 10% travel and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (four-year) in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Business, Finance
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with collaborative tools (SharePoint, Teams, Confluence)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail, grammar, and structure
• Ability to collaborate with SMEs and synthesize information from multiple sources into coherent documents

Responsibilities

• Develop, revise, and maintain publications supporting mission, operations, engineering and admin activities
• Produce reports, manuals, briefings, proposals, instructional materials, catalogs, and other documentation
• Translate complex technical information into clear, usable content for intended audiences
• Review and refine the work of other writers and coordinate documentation activities to ensure high-quality publications
